Photovoltaics (Solar) and Solid-State Lighting

We have exten­sive expe­ri­ence scal­ing and improv­ing solar and sol­id-state light­ing per­for­mance and pro­duc­tion. We have worked with all major solar tech­nolo­gies, includ­ing CdTe, CIGS, GaAs, and a‑Si:H. Our expe­ri­ence ranges from raw mate­ri­als, through fab­ri­ca­tion to test­ing and pack­ag­ing for sev­er­al clients includ­ing First Solar, Alta Devices, Opti­so­lar, and Philips Lumileds.

We have car­ried out many dif­fer­ent types of pro­grams includ­ing research, prod­uct devel­op­ment, orga­ni­za­tion build­ing, and  man­u­fac­tur­ing ramps. Oth­er pro­grams have includ­ed mate­ri­als devel­op­ment, prod­uct def­i­n­i­tion, device per­for­mance improve­ment, and man­u­fac­tur­ing ramp­ing. We also offer train­ing in all solar cell man­u­fac­tur­ing technologies.

Energy Storage

We have suc­cess­ful­ly applied our proven exper­tise from pho­to­voltaics to sol­id-state ener­gy stor­age. Our exper­tise pro­duced key scal­ing strate­gies and solved numer­ous crit­i­cal mate­ri­als chal­lenges. The results were rapid demon­stra­tion of  tech­ni­cal fea­si­bil­i­ty and risk, as well as res­o­lu­tion of strate­gic ques­tions with regards to com­mer­cial­iza­tion options.
